It is indeed a choice. We cannot fill the program with dozens and dozens of Quyen and song Luyens (which were never created by Master Nguyen Loc) because this time spent revising is time lost to work on effective techniques. It is this return to an efficient Vovinam and an elimination of all circus or acrobatic techniques from Vovinam Viet Vo Dao that was the starting point for the creation of Integral Vovinam.

Practiced in about fifty countries, many masters and teachers wanted to leave Vovinam Viet Vo Dao which had become a simple show, but they did not want to stop Vovinam. So they chose the path of Integral Vovinam, or "Integral Fighting System".

In Integral Vovinam, unnecessary or ineffective techniques have been removed from the program, and others have been added in order to modernize Vovinam and make it more effective, according to the founding principles of Vovinam.
